How to Find Your Facebook Backup Codes

A step-by-step guide to accessing your two-factor authentication recovery codes on Facebook

When you place an order that requires access to your Facebook account, such as a game top-up, we may ask you to provide your Facebook backup codes. This allows us to log in to your account securely and complete your order without needing your password. This article shows you how to find those codes.

What are Facebook backup codes:

Facebook backup codes are one-time security codes linked to your two-factor authentication. When we use one to access your account to process your order, that code is used up and cannot be used again. Your account remains secure and you stay in full control.

How to find your backup codes on desktop:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account at facebook.com.

  2. Click your profile picture in the top right corner.

  3. Select Settings and Privacy, then click Settings.

  4. In the left menu, click Accounts Centre.

  5. Click Password and Security.

  6. Under Two-Factor Authentication, select your account.

  7. Click Recovery Codes.

  8. Click Get Codes. Facebook will display a list of backup codes.

  9. Save these codes somewhere safe. You can copy them, screenshot them, or download them.

How to find your backup codes on mobile:

  1. Open the Facebook app on your phone.

  2. Tap the Menu icon in the bottom right or top right corner.

  3. Tap Settings and Privacy, then tap Settings.

  4. Tap Accounts Centre.

  5. Tap Password and Security.

  6. Tap Two-Factor Authentication and select your account.

  7. Tap Recovery Codes.

  8. Tap Get Codes to view your backup codes.

  9. Copy one of the codes and share it with us as instructed for your order.

Important things to remember:

  • Each backup code can only be used once

  • Once we use a code to access your account, it will no longer work

  • You can generate a new set of codes at any time from the same screen

  • Never share your backup codes publicly or with anyone outside of this process

  • After your order is completed, we recommend generating a fresh set of codes for your own security
